I guess it was because you were offline because it worked now.

Thanks, I'm happy now.

Thanks for quick response.
I was able to find this file with my registration information.

[My text copy of email] PRM53nn$nnn73o and your email-id to register Stockalyze.

But when I enter it, it fails with invalid.

Whew. Finally relief. I am very happy to see you back.

I have had to resort to manually filtering my stock along with replacing my computer.

Since the change of computers, I have lost the registered copy of Stockalyze. I will gladly purchase another copy if needed.

Welcome back. I have certainly missed you.

Hi Socha.

I have a strange thing happening with a text file of stock symbols I am trying to scan.
I am using Yahoo as the data provider.

In the text file of 60 symbols is a symbol (LK - Luckin Coffee Inc.) and when I import the symbols, Stockalyze thinks the symbol is LKAI. That is, if I look at the import window of symbols, LK is not in the list but LKAI is.

The symbol does not show up as missing, though others in the list do as expected.

If I try to chart LK, it is not in the database. I'm sure I can add it, but I haven't yet, in case you need more information.

I have attached a snapshot of the import window showing the LKAI symbol.

Thanks Sacha,
Tony

General Discussion / Re: Duplicate Symbols in Database
November 01, 2019, 04:56:05 AM
Thanks for the explanation. I just wasn't sure if deleting either of them would somehow corrupt the database.

I will delete the duplicates as I come across them.

Thanks,
Tony

General Discussion / Duplicate Symbols in Database

I notice that when I use a symbol from the AMEX exchange via Yahoo, there are two symbols that show up. One from AMEX and other from NYSEMKT.

Are they in fact two separate entries in the database?

Which one would be the correct one to use?

Should I delete one of them?

Thanks,
Tony

Sorry for the late reply.

I am using Yahoo, but everything works as it's supposed to.

WORK was the symbol I was using at the time.

I'm a happy camper.
Thanks,
Tony

Feature & Enhancement Requests / Re: Missing Tickers
October 28, 2019, 06:30:11 AM
You are right, I see where it would make it difficult if names were required.

So far I haven't seen anything I would change about this new feature.

Thanks again,
Tony

Deleting and re-entry is fine with me. In testing your new feature I added a symbol without a name.

Just questions:
Shouldn't you require a name in order to add a symbol?
Is the company name retrievable through the download process?

Thanks,
Tony

Absolutely amazing.

I like the provisional part and the ability to add the company name. This simplifies the entry of missing symbols.

Maybe I have overlooked it, but how could I add a name to a symbol already entered. Would I need to edit the table through SQLlite or is there a way within Stockalyze?

You are truly amazing at what you do.

Thanks,
Tony

General Discussion / Re: Question on historical data
October 25, 2019, 03:57:43 PM
Thanks for the explanation.

That answers it.
It was the same symbol used in backtesting.

I am not creating an intra day chart just Eod.

I was backtesting with weekly periodicity. So does that mean only the weekly historical data is downloaded?

And my charts are daily, which is why it needs to download "daily" data to display the chart?

I don't believe it's a bug, just my ignorance.

Thanks again.

General Discussion / Question on historical data
October 25, 2019, 10:04:00 AM
Hi Sacha.
Just a question on when historical data is downloaded.

Early on in learning Stockalyze I thought running a trading system on a list of stock symbols would download the historical data.

But now when I run a trading system, and then chart a symbol, I get the brief message "waiting for price history" then the chart is displayed.

So my question is:
How did the system run a trading system and use historical data when, by displaying a chart for a symbol, Stockalye needs to retrieve historical data?

Thanks,
Tony

Yes. That sounds perfect.

At times the list of tickers I get will have the "preferred" stock (the ones with a ".A", I don't want these and try to remove them before I try to import them. But sometimes I miss them, so if error/unwanted ticker can be removed, then it sounds perfect.

Wow, you are amazing.
Thanks,
Tony
