Great job, this solution worked!!
Iam happy that I can use my Stockalyze again.

Though I use Stockalyze only on 1 laptop , by changing laptops in the past and the new installations with regard to this problem,I have  already used 4 keys.

Sacha will you please reset the license usage ?

Hi Huub,
Sorry that I couldn't respond earlier. Please try one more thing.
Close Stockalyze and then delete/rename the file "%localappdata%\Lunetek Software\Stockalyze\data\price-hist.lyzdb" and then start the Stockalyze.
If this doesn't solve the problem then I can work on your computer to resolve the issue.

Please let me know how it goes.

Why are you not responding ?
Answers like we can not solve the problem of it will take time are also answers!

I bought the license and I know there are somtimes problems, I took that so far.
However we are no living in very volatile times, I need answers!

Hello Sacha,

I´m still having problems with the new updates.
I installed the 29th December update in a computer running windows 10. Since then, it didn´t start the application, stopping in the initial screen with the message "Please wait Stockalyze is initializing...". I did a clean installation with this version and also with the one release recently (Feb 25th 2025). The result is the same. No idea what happens. I saw some posts mentioned this last one fixed things, but in my case it doesn´t.
I had also installed the December updates in another computer also running windows 10. The Dec 29th updated corrected the problem of the previous one and all quotes were updated. However it occurred just one time. Later accesses it started but always showing the quotes of Dec 30th. And now I installed the Feb 25th version and it is working fine.
Any suggestion why it is working in one computer and not in the other? I follow stocks from Brazil and US stock exchanges and I´m located in Brazil.

I did what you asked me to do, it did not solve the problem.

When I had Stockalyze installed again (your point 3 above) , I looked in my portfolio and watchlist if I could add e.g MSFT or AMZN. This was without any result. I see a lot of tickers but not the 2 I wanted to add.

Next I  closed Stockalyze added the user_index again. I tried again to add the 2 above mentioned tickers again with no result.

I have the idea that something has happend with the complete list of tickers of the  US and the Netherlands after I added new tickers to these lists.

Sacha, if other users have no problems and you have the opinion that adding new tickers to an index is working well. I am  willing to a clean install and do my input again if it is too difficult to solve the problem. For me it is okay that you want to solve it bit by bit i

In case you have the preference for a clean install please advise, which folders I have to delete and please adjust the counter for licenses.

OK. I will look into it but in the meantime. Can you please do the following:
  • Make sure the Stockalyze is not running
  • Move out the content of "%appdata%\Lunetek Software\Stockalyze\yahoo_data_download\user_index"
  • Install the Stockalyze again
  • Close the Stockalyze after it ran once the installation was done
  • Put back the content you had moved out in step 2
  • Start the Stockalyze and see if the problem is resolved

This may work, if not then please let me know.

Of course I did install the new update. I had also checked and have the build 2025-02-25.

With all the hassle to get it right, I realised that, when I was doing the input for my portfolio after your update for the Yahoo download, I could see all tickers in the Netherlands and also in the USA. I was unable to finish my portfolio in one go. So the next time when I wanted to continue I missed the tickers.

With that said, for European stock exchanges like Germany and France every thing is still okay. For the USA and the Netherlands it is not. I think now looking back in hinsight there is a correlation with adding symbols. For both USA and the Netherlands I added new tickers. It were the tickers you can see yahoo data download file I sent you a couple of days ago. These countries are also not showing  a complete list of tickers.

I hope that this will help you to solve the problems

"Check for update" button only checks for update, it doesn't actually update the Stockalyze.
Did you download and installed the latest Stockalyze?
No you don't need to remove or uninstall anything, only download the latest Stockalyze and install it.

I updated Stockalyze with the update button. Unfortunatly nothing changed. Ihave still al the same problems.
Should I have removed files from my system ? Are should I have done things different ?

Stockalyze is no longer supported on Windows 7 and older Windows operating systems.

When you uninstall, the license use gets decreased automatically.
