A new Stockalyze update is now available with several improvements, particularly for Point & Figure charts and intraday data support.

What's New

Expanded Intraday Data Support

• Intraday price data can now also be downloaded from Yahoo Finance (via yfinance). Previously, intraday downloads were available only through StockData.org. This gives more users access to intraday charts without requiring a StockData.org account.

Point & Figure Chart Improvements

• Point & Figure charts now follow the classic methodology described by Thomas J. Dorsey even more closely, including textbook box size tiers.
• Added interactive hover information. Simply move the mouse over the chart to view details of the column and individual box under the cursor.
• The latest column now displays action points, making it easier to identify current trading signals.
• Improved the overall Point & Figure user interface.
• Fixed an issue where a Point & Figure chart could occasionally fail to display immediately after downloading fresh data.

These improvements bring Stockalyze's Point & Figure charts even closer to the textbook methodology while providing a more interactive charting experience.

Data Download

• Fixed an issue where incorrect volume data could be downloaded in some cases.

A new Stockalyze update is out with a bunch of improvements and quality-of-life changes.

Here are some highlights from the recent work:

• Seamless annotations across timeframes
Drawings and annotations can now follow you more naturally between timeframes, making analysis much smoother.

• Mouse wheel zooming
You can now zoom directly using the mouse wheel for a more fluid charting experience.
Holding Ctrl while scrolling zooms around the mouse location for more precise navigation.

• Trading System improvements
Several improvements and refinements were made to Trading Systems, including:

* clearer naming
* better configuration behavior
* improved help documentation with more detailed explanations on defining conditions and creating new systems

• Trend visualization and ZigZag fixes
A few configuration changes were fixed so updates like colors and pattern settings now take effect immediately.

There were also various internal improvements, cleanup work, website updates, and compatibility updates behind the scenes.

We've been busy improving Stockalyze over the last few weeks, and here's a quick round-up of what's new and improved.

New Releases & Core Enhancements
Several new updates were released during this cycle, bringing performance improvements, bug fixes, and new capabilities. A key highlight is that trading systems can now use conditions tied to a specific timeframe. We've also added several new trading systems built using this feature. These changes were based on suggestion from a Stockalyze user.

You'll also notice improvements across the board — fixes to histogram highlighting when dropping an indicator on a chart, better color selection in dialogs, and general polish to make things feel smoother.

Scanning, Watchlists & Trading Tools
You can now add scanned stocks directly to a watchlist with a single click, or even create a watchlist directly from your scan results. Thanks to one of our users for suggesting this — it really streamlines the workflow from discovery to analysis.

We've also improved chart templates. For example, templates no longer save a timeframe when Auto is used, and applying a template no longer shows unnecessary pop-ups. Composite indicators can now be deleted, and the initial cash amount used in backtesting can be configured for more realistic simulations. These improvements were also inspired by user suggestions — thank you!

AI & Analysis Improvements
We've started integrating AI capabilities. To begin with, the new AI Analyst Assistant can leverage free AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to instantly generate chart analysis.

Trend detection has been made more reliable by using a more stable slope-based approach, and we've made several behind-the-scenes improvements to make AI analysis more useful and responsive.

Website & Help Documentation
The website and help documentation have received several updates — better explanations, clearer examples, and refreshed screenshots. This is still ongoing, and we're continuing to expand the documentation to cover more of Stockalyze's capabilities.

Pricing & Availability
We've introduced a simplified and more attractive pricing model for the Pro version, and we're working on making Stockalyze available on more download platforms to make it easier for new users to discover.

You can now generate trend lines not only for price movements, but also for any indicator plotted on the chart. We've put special effort into making indicator-based trend lines intuitive and easy to create, so you can analyze momentum, oscillators, and custom indicators just as seamlessly as price action.

We're happy to announce that forum registration is now open again 🎉

Earlier, direct forum registration was closed and the only way to register was by asking a question through Stockalyze. This was done to fight spam. Unfortunately, that approach was also eventually breached, and we had to deal with a large volume of spam.

We've now worked on improving our protection systems and are confident in reopening registrations.

Stockalyze now has support for backtesting of short selling positions too.

Going forward it is expected that more frequent updates of Stockalyze will be released.

Hello dear Stockalyzers,
You must have noticed that the Stockalyze website was not working for a long time. We deeply regret it. We had met with an unprecedented and unforeseen situation where our domain registrar (Net4 India) had abruptly closed its business. They made many websites defunct and virtually ran away.

Including us many were impacted, a simple google search shows many news about it, for example this one and ICANN wiki also says that Net4 India is now de-accredited.

We were badly impacted because, admittedly, we were not prepared to handle this situation.

But finally we are back again and we will continue our business with more efforts than ever before.

We will continue working on user requests and keep updating the Stockalyze.
We look forward for your suggestions and feedbacks. Once again we regret the situation that did not allow us to maintain Stockalyze. We hope similar thing will not happen again.  And anyway we are now prepared to handle such crisis in the future. So, going forward, we have little to worry.

We request you to help us spread the word about Stockalyze.

In past few updates of Stockalyze there are many improvements that have gone into Stockalyze. I did not mention them earlier and before I go on implementing more I would like to inform you about few of the things that have been added into Stockalyze recently.

• Support for ASCII data source: Now use any ASCII data (text file, CSV file, etc.) as source in Stockalyze. This breaks the barrier and allows to use even more data sources. You can now create all sorts of charts and use all technical analysis tools like backtesting, stock screening, etc. on a ASCII data you download from any source.
• Support for Metastock data source: Metastock format is popular data format and Stockalyze already had a support for it. Now the support of Metastock format is improved a lot in Stockalyze. It can be used for intraday data source as well.
• Simultaneous use of multiple data sources: The new data sources like ASCII, and Metastock are just another data sources and can live side by side in Stockalyze with other data dources (Yahoo, Alphavantage, and Tiingo). So, now you can, for example, have a backtest running on Metastock data sources while you create charts using Yahoo data.
• Multiple custom data sources: You can add as many ASCII, or Metastock data sources as you wish.
• Many improvements in installer and uninstaller: First time installation and update installations were always faster but first launch after update used to be as slow as first launch after installation. Now, update installation and first launch all takes less than 20 seconds on typical PC. So, never hesitate in updating Stockalyze, it is very fast now. :)
• Chart with relevant indicators when created from backtest or stock scanner report:It as annoying to manually add indicators on charts created from backtest report. Now when you create a chart from backtest or stock scanner report the chart comes loaded with all relevant indicators related to the concerned Trading System.
• Many other small improvements and bug fixes

I know some more suggested features are missing but they will be part of next update that will happen soon.

Stockalyze with new update is now beta. You can download beta version from here. Followings are the new entrants into Stockalyze:

• Many new time frames (i.e. chart periodicity): 10 minutes, 2 hr, 3 hr, and 4 hr chart periods are now possible.
• ASCII data import: Now import ASCII data in CSV format and use that in Stockalyze.
• Metastock data import: While Stockalyze supported Metastock data earlier too but now it is more streamlined as another data source. With this update you can use all data sources like Yahoo, Tiingo, Alphavantage, ASCII data source, and metastock data sources simultaneously.
• Many bug fixes and improvements: Many issues reported by users and found internally have been resolved and fixed and some improvements have also been made.

Documentation of above features are still in the making but I hope it is easily discoverable and can be used.

I have made a demonstration video to explain how to import ascii data into Stockalyze. I hope it will be helpful in understanding how to use this feature.

• Backtesting can now be done with intraday data
• Buy and sell price are now configurable for backtesting, you can select open, low, high, close, typical, average, or median price for buy/sell simulation
• By default next candle is used to trade after a signal has occurred, now it can be configured to trade on same candle

I am glad to inform Stockalyze users that latest and brightest Stockalyze with intraday charting is now out of the door.
To use intraday chart you will need to setup Alphavantage API token which is free and easy to do. Just try creating intraday chart and follow the user interface. I will post more information about it in coming days.

If you had purchased Stockalyze Perpetual (any version) within last 3 years of new release then you can use this version without limitation.

If you had purchased before that then also you can use it without limitation except intraday charting.
